• First Wash: Dry cleaning is highly recommended for the initial wash to preserve the sheen of the gold zari.
• Subsequent Washes: Gently hand wash in cold water using a mild, diluted detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or fabric softeners.
• Handling: Do not scrub the golden border, and never wring or twist the fabric to squeeze out water.
• Drying: Line dry flat in a shaded area inside out. Avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can dull the golden threads and yellow the cream fabric.
• Ironing: Iron on a medium-low heat setting. Always iron on the reverse side of the golden border, or place a thin cotton cloth over the kasavu to protect it from direct heat.
